Acrylic Nature Artist

Artist Statement

I grew up in the South during a time when everyone spent all daylight hours outside. I fell in love with nature & the outdoors and discovered at a young age that a great way to express my feelings was through painting.

I continued this passion through high school & College. As it turned out life took me down a different path as I became an Insurance Professional for 40+ years.

Although my Career was not in the Arts, I always kept my love for painting & decided to focus on my art once I retired. I have been married to my husband Mike for the past 30+yrs. and we have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. We moved to Arizona in 2003 and the Sonoran Desert became a great subject matter for my art.

I use acrylic paint mostly on canvas and acrylic brush pens for details. I was a member of the Sonoran Arts League showing my work in at their gallery in Cave Creek, AZ & The Twist Gallery in Scottsdale AZ before I moved to the Tuscon area in 2022.

Since relocating I joined the Southern Arizona Artist Guild, and the Tubac Artist Association and have been showing my work at the SAAG Gallery in Tucson, AZ, the Overlook Community Club House Oro Valley, AZ, Salpointe Catholic High School, Tucson, AZ, Raices Taller 222 Gallery& Workshop, Tucson, AZ, Steinfeld Gallery, Tucson, AZ., Life is Good Chiropractic, Oro Valley, AZ & Tubac Center for the Arts, Tubac, AZ
