Artist Statement
Nature has always been my greatest inspiration, and watercolor is my chosen medium to express its beauty. Living in Tucson, Arizona, I am surrounded by a landscape that is both rugged and delicate, full of contrasts that continually spark my creativity. The desert’s vibrant hues, the ever-changing sky, and the incredible birdlife that inhabits this region are central to my artistic vision. Birds, in particular, have fascinated me s—their movement, resilience, and grace speak to something deep within me. They are symbols of freedom, transformation, and the delicate balance of the natural world.
Watercolor, with its fluidity and unpredictability, mirrors the organic forms of nature in a way that feels intuitive and alive. The way pigment flows and blends on the paper reminds me of the forces of wind, water, and time that shape the landscapes I love. Each painting is an exploration of light, color, and texture, capturing fleeting moments of wonder that often go unnoticed.
Creating art has been a lifelong need for me—a way to observe, reflect, and connect with the world on a deeper level. Through my paintings, I hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of nature, to slow down and notice the details, and to feel a sense of peace and connection. Whether it’s the quiet presence of a hummingbird, the bold silhouette of a hawk, or the golden glow of a desert sunrise, my work is a celebration of the small, extraordinary moments that make up the natural world. Painting is not just what I do; it is how I experience and share the wonder of life.
